Our Story
Amanda, the founder and owner of Pawsitive Petsitting LLC, knew from a young age that she wanted to work with animals in some way. Her years of working in a doggy day care and later with shelter pets opened her eyes to the possibility of one day having a pet care business of her own. Her advanced degree in animal studies and continuing education workshops really allowed her to begin making that dream a reality. In 2011 she opened a small pet sitting business under the name of Erickson Pet Sitting, and recruited her mother, MaryAnn, to help once it really started to take off. Fast forward nearly 10 years, this Mother-Daughter team has re-branded themselves as "Pawsitive Petsitting LLC" and have begun to hire a team of really wonderful individuals with the same goal in mind: building relationships with our clients, and ensuring the best possible experience for both them and their pets!

Amanda says...
"I have been an avid animal lover for as long as I could remember, and like many others, I grew up always having a fur-baby the house. My passion for the well-being of animals has been extended into my professional career. I started a pet sitting business in 2011 under the name "Erickson Pet Sitting." In 2014, I received my Master's degree in the field of Anthrozoology (the study of the human-animal bond). All the while, I was employed at a doggy daycare for two years, a rescue shelter as an assistant manager for three, as well as volunteered with an organization aiding with adoption days and dog walking. Just this year, I decided to re-brand our company to "Pawsitive Petsitting LLC" in order to ensure I am providing the best care and services for my wonderful clients. I promise that your fuzzy (or not-so-fuzzy) kids will be loved as if they are my own! (My boy, Albus Dumbledore, is pictured here with me.)"
MaryAnn Says...
"My love for animals and interest in serving others inspired my decision to join my daughter as a professional pet sitter. We teamed up in 2011, and have been providing the Somerset County area with loyal and loving pet sitting services ever since. I can’t wait to meet your furry friend(s)!"
