Steven Thibeault, from Nahant, Massachusetts, rescued a tiny duckling when he noticed it was alone and struggling to survive. With no luck finding the little guy's mom, Steven took him home to care for him and gave him the name, Cheerio. Almost instantly, these two became best friends! Cheerio goes outside to play with his wild duck friends, fly around, and swim in the ocean, but at the end of each day he comes back home to his human family.
Thibeault told The Dodo, “He does have a social life, he has spent time with other ducks which makes me happy, but at the end of the day he chooses me. That could change one day but that's up to him.”
This story is another remarkable example of the human-animal bond. It truly knows no bounds!
